Privacy Policy
Effective .
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Mardi Gras Made Ez runs the Mardi Gras Made EZ website, takes inquiries for our experiences and sells the Balcony Hopper. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have.
For any privacy question or request, email info@mardigrasmadeez.com, call (504) 606-6261, or write to Mardi Gras Made Ez, 1524 Edwards Avenue, Suite #2, New Orleans, LA 70123. Please do not send card numbers, identity documents or medical records by email or text.
2. What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Contact form: your name, email, phone number, the experience you are interested in, preferred travel date, number of guests, years you have attended Mardi Gras and your message | To answer your inquiry and plan your trip with you |
| Booking form, for each guest: full name | To keep the guest list, check guests in and handle name changes |
| Booking form, for each guest: date of birth | To check that every guest is 21 or older on the event day |
| Booking form, for each guest: where they are traveling from | To plan around guests’ travel |
| Booking form, for each guest: phone number | To reach the guest about the booking and on the event day |
| Booking form, for each guest: food allergies, accessibility needs and motion sickness (optional) | To arrange food, access and the ride between balconies; see section 3 |
| Checkout: your email address and payment | Stripe takes your card details on its own secure page; we receive your email address, the amount paid, the payment status and a reference, and use them to confirm and manage your booking and any refund |
| Your booking-texts choice on the contact form | To send only the texts you agreed to and to keep a record of that agreement: whether you ticked the box, the exact wording shown, its version, and the date and time |
| Campaign tags in the link you arrived by (such as utm_source or utm_campaign), the page you landed on and the time of your first visit | To learn which of our ads and links bring inquiries and bookings; they are sent with an inquiry or booking only |
| Your IP address and basic browser and device details | To run the security check on our contact form, prevent abuse and keep the website working |
| Emails, calls and messages you exchange with us | To help you and keep a record of what was agreed |
3. Allergy, accessibility and motion-sickness answers
The booking form asks about each guest’s food allergies, accessibility needs and motion sickness. These answers can reveal health information, so they are optional: you can leave them blank, answer “None,” or tell us you would rather discuss them by phone. If you do answer, the booking form asks you to tick a separate box agreeing that we may use the answers to arrange your day. We use them only for that. We never use them for marketing or advertising, and we keep them in our booking system, not in our marketing contact records.
If you enter details for other guests, including these answers, you confirm that each guest has agreed to you sharing them with us. Any guest can contact us to see, correct or delete their own details. If we do not have enough information to arrange a particular request, we will talk it through with you.
4. Who can see your information
Only the people who need it for their work: our booking team and event staff, and the service providers below. Food-service staff receive the allergy information they need; staff arranging access or transport receive the assistance needs they need. We use dates of birth only to check age.
We use service providers to run our business, and they handle information only to provide their service to us: website hosting and security (Cloudflare, which also runs the security check on our contact form); the hosting of our booking system; our customer records system; email; Stripe for payments; an electronic-signature service for the release and contract; and an automated email assistant that may write replies to inquiries. We may also share the minimum information needed to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, protect safety or handle fraud and payment disputes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotion; text-message opt-in records are never given to third parties for their own use.
5. Your browser, cookies and other services
What your browser keeps while you fill in a form
While you fill in the contact form or the Balcony Hopper booking form, your browser keeps a copy of what you have typed in this tab’s session storage, so nothing is lost if you leave the page and come back. That copy can include the booking form’s allergy, accessibility and motion-sickness answers. It never includes any of the boxes you tick to give your agreement, payment details or security tokens; you tick those boxes again yourself. The copy stays on your device and nothing reaches us until you send the form. It is deleted when you send your inquiry or complete your booking, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
If you arrive through a link with campaign tags, your browser also keeps those tags in this tab’s session storage for the rest of your visit, so they can be sent with an inquiry or booking. They are deleted when you close the tab.
Cookies and other services on our pages
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies or tags, and we do not track you across other websites. If we ever add them, we will update this policy first and give you a choice where the law requires one.
Some pages use services from other companies:
- Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that confirms a person is sending the form. It loads when you start using the form and processes your IP address and browser details under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Parade films on our pages load from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play.
- Checkout happens on Stripe’s own page, under Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Links to our Google reviews, Vimeo and social media take you to those companies’ sites, under their own policies.
6. Text messages and emails
Text messages
We send automated text messages only to people who tick the booking-texts box on our contact form. Those messages cover your inquiry, booking confirmations, payment reminders and event updates. Message frequency varies with your booking activity. Message and data rates may apply. Giving us a phone number, making a booking or accepting our Terms and Conditions does not sign you up for texts, and consent is not a condition of booking or of sending an inquiry. We do not send marketing text messages. Phone numbers entered on the booking form are used to reach guests about their booking, not to sign them up for automated texts.
Reply STOP to stop texts at any time. You may receive one message confirming that you have opted out, and no further texts after it unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at info@mardigrasmadeez.com or (504) 606-6261. A purchaser cannot sign up another guest for texts. Our Terms and Conditions also explain the text program.
Emails
We email you about your inquiry and booking, including your confirmation and payment reminders. We may also send occasional news about our experiences for future Mardi Gras seasons; every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your booking.
7. How long we keep information and how we protect it
How long we keep information
We delete every guest’s date of birth and allergy, accessibility and motion-sickness answers from our booking system within 90 days after their event day, including for bookings that were cancelled or transferred. Older copies can remain in our encrypted backups until those backups are deleted; we do not use backups for day-to-day work, and if we ever restore one we delete those details again before using it.
We keep booking, payment and correspondence records for as long as we need them to run your booking, keep our accounts, meet legal obligations and handle disputes. We keep inquiry records so that we can plan with you and tell you about future seasons, until you ask us to delete them. If you opt out of texts or emails, we keep only what we need to respect that choice.
Security
We limit access to the people who need it and protect information with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure. Stripe and the other services named above also protect the information they handle under their own policies.
8. Your choices, children and changes to this policy
Your choices and requests
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your agreement to texts, to emails or to our use of allergy, accessibility and motion-sickness answers. Withdrawing your agreement does not cancel your booking. We may ask for information to confirm it is you, and we will respond within 45 days. If the law requires us to keep something, we will tell you what and why. Our services are run from the United States, so if you contact us from another country your information is handled in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.
Children
The Balcony Hopper is for guests 21 or older. Our website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we post the new version here with its effective date, and we tell you directly or ask for your agreement again where the law requires it. A new version never treats you as having agreed to something you did not agree to.
